The Firm

Challenor Gardiner was first established as a firm of solicitors in Oxford in 1851. Its offices have moved a few times since then and our people have changed too, but we still aim to provide you with the same professional and  friendly service.  We now have modern offices at New Inn Hall Street.

Our client base comes from private individuals, local businesses and the University.

Our People

Nick Bingham – Principal who qualified with the firm in 1985 and has many years experience in family law and litigation. He is a member of both the Law Society Family Law Panel and Resolution.

Chris Dewhurst - his main practice areas are in commercial property, residential conveyancing and wills.  Chris began his legal career in 1995.

Richard Hodby - a solid background in property work dealing mainly with residential conveyancing.

Monica Payne - a very experienced family lawyer of more than 25 years. Her specialist areas are in children law, particularly care work.  She is a member of both the Law Society Children Panel and Resolution.

Jennifer Russ – Jennifer specialises in all aspects of divorce, ancillary relief, cohabitation, children issues and domestic violence.

Alison Page – qualified with us as a Legal Executive and covers all areas of family law and is also a member of Resolution.

Lyn Tomlins - Our Probate manager. She came to us after many years experience in the probate department of a major high street bank.

Nick Gardiner –our former senior partner and now a Consultant with the firm.  He is also the H M Coroner for Oxfordshire.

Brian Heath – was the senior partner before Nick and is a Consultant with the firm
